SET ends lower

The SET index ended lower on Wednesday despite the rally at the open following the US rate cut.



SET ends lower

The SET rallied shortly after the opening bell due mainly to the Federal Reserve's surprise cut of the Fed Fund Rate by 75 basis points to 3.5 per cent.

But at the close, the SET Index down 0.12 per cent or 0.89 points to 740.65, on turnover of Bt22.2 billion.  Most markets regionally gained on the day.

PTT was the hottest stock with turnover of Bt3.395 billion. It gained Bt2 to close at Bt294.

Included in the top five most active stocks today were Siam Commercial Bank, PTT Exploration and Production, and Banpu. . - The Nation
