Mahaphant Fibre-Cement (South Asia) was established in India to focus on the market in the region, while Mahaphant Trading (Shanghai) will cover the Chinese market.
Madee Sriwatthanah, Shera product group manager, said yesterday that the companies would serve customers in targeted regions including the Middle East, South Africa and South Asia.
The group's products include roof tiles and artificial wood substitutes.
The products will be marketed under its own brands, including Olympic for roof tiles and Shera for artificial wood.
Seminar on cleaner energyThe British Embassy and the UK Climate Change Projects Office will co-host a seminar entitled "Technology and Finance for CDM Projects in Thailand" to raise public awareness of both alternative energy and renewable energy.
The seminar on the clean development mechanism (CDM) under the Kyoto Protocol will be held at the Nai Lert Park Hotel in Bangkok on Monday from 8am to 4pm.
The seminar will provide a forum for eight British experts involved in CDM projects and the subsequent delivery of carbon credits to share their experiences and the application of best practice with Thai counterparts.
During the seminar, the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Organisation, a newly established organisation, will also lecture on CDM implementation in Thailand.
