Pojaman will fight corruption charges in court tomorrow

Khunying Pojaman Shinawatra, wife of former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra will tomorrow stand trial in the opening hearing to fight a corruption case involving her questionable land purchase at the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Political Office Holders.



Pichit Chuenban, Pojaman's lawyer said Pojaman is ready to give her first testimony tomorrow.

Pojaman is charged with using her husband's political influence to buy prime Bangkok real estate from a government agency at one-third its estimated value.

The panel of nine judges will read the prosecutors' indictment statements to the defendant who will testifty guilty or not guilty as charged. After the testimony, the court will schedule hearings for witnesses' testimonies.
