Red cards upheld

The Council of State yesterday upheld three red cards against two Chart Thai candidates in Chat Nat and one People Power candidate in Udon Thani.

"The Election Commission followed prescribed steps to ensure legality and fairness when disqualifying the candidates," Council of State deputy secretary-general Atchaporn Charuchinda said.

The three disqualified candidates are Nanthana Songpracha and Monthien Songpracha of Chart Thai and Prasop Busarakham of People Power.

A by-election will be held tomorrow.
