The search of the prison's Area 2, a maximum-security wing housing 300 inmates sentenced to death or life, turned up two knives, two pornographic magazines and dice.
As many as 60 prison guards conducted the one-hour search. The items were buried in a ditch screened by a concrete cover. Prison staff continue to track down the owners.
The Corrections Department is cracking down on drug-dealing coordinated by inmates.
Area 2 is home to high-profile criminals, including former police officer Lt-General Chalor Kerdthet, convicted for double murder in the Saudi jewellery scandal, and drug lord Suparb Seedaeng.
