Liverpool owners deny plans to sell the club

Dubai International Capital, who were pipped by the American pair in January, have reportedly been linked with a second attempt to buy the club.

 But Hicks and Gillett deny the suggestion that they want to part ways with the club after just a year.

 "Any suggestion Hicks and Gillett are contemplating a sale of the club or any portion of it is categorically untrue," a spokesman for the pair said.

 The American owners have come under fire after they revealed they approached former Germany striker and manager Jurgen Klinsmann to become their new manager, undermining the position of current manager Rafael Benitez.
