PTT likely to face lower rents

The Finance Ministry has not yet finalised the rents on three natural gas pipelines to be charged on PTT Plc, but the rents are likely to fall from the targeted Bt5.7 billion sum.

Finance Minister Chalongphob Sussangkarn said on Friday after the meeting with PTT's executives and a working committee that the discussion is not over yet due to discrepancies in future gas transmission income. The income was earlier based on the figures in the past 5 years.

"Earlier, there was a agreement that the ministry would receive Bt5.7 billion, but PTT proposed a new figure which is lower. PTT said that the previous figures were miscalculated as it includes revenue from pipelines which are not subjected to be transferred to the ministry. It's reasonable," Chalongphob said.
