Foreign reserves at US$89.6 bn

Thailand's foreign reserves as of January 11 stood at US$89.6 billion, slightly higher from $89.3 billion a week ago.

The Bank of Thailand also announced on Friday that its net forward position in the foreign exchange markets was $20.4 billion, compared with $18.6 billion on Jan 4.

The reserves are increasing in line with the baht appreciation against US dollar. Thai baht on Monday appreciated to the 10-year high level.
