It expects to collect another Bt40 million per annum from Ratchaburi, Bt30 million from Rayong and Bt30 million from Mae Mo power plants.
The fees are now under Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand supervision but will be transferred to the fund after its committee members are appointed. Power plants must pay 1-2 satang per unit of their capacity to the fund, which will be used to develop local communities.
NTC approves committee
The National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) board yesterday approved the formation of a committee to coordinate with the Public Relations Department in the NTC preparation process to oversee the broadcasting industry.
Article 90 of the new Broadcasting Act requires the NTC to oversee the broadcasting industry pending establishment of the National Broadcasting and Telecommuni-cations Commission.
