400 nominations received
A total of 417 organisations have made nominations for the selection as senators since registration opened on January 3.

Yesterday alone, 156 organisations submitted their nominees, according to the Election Commission.
Among the well-known figures nominated are Interior Ministry former permanent secretary Siwa Saengmanee, labour leader Somsak Kosaisuk, song composer Nitipong Hornak, and anti-drunk driving campaigner Banlu Siripanit.
A total of 74 senators will be selected by a committee and another 76 elected - one from each of the provinces.
