THAI to lease 14 Boeing 787s

Thai Airways International's board of directors approved the long lease of fourteen Boeing 787s for 10-12 years, expecting to open the bid in the middle of this year.

THAI President Apinan Sumanaseni said that the aircraft would be leased due to the huge purchase orders at Boeing. If opting for a purchase, THAI would be delivered the first plane in 2017.

The new aircraft is scheduled to provide services from 2012, Apinan told reporters.
