The event was organised by Supanit Vimooktanon, general manger of the Pathumwan Princess Hotel, in conjunction with the Pathumwan District Office and the Mah Boon Khrong mall.

The event, which was held on the Rama I Road island opposite Tokyu Department Store, aimed to help reduce the effects of global warming, while creating an aesthetically appealing view for passers-by.

In attendance were students from Wat Pathumwanaram School, movie starts and celebrities. Proceeds from charitable donations as well as from sales of New Year greeting cards sold on the day will go towards the Thai Red Cross Society's Children's Home.
