Danai Out of Aussie Open

Danai Udomchoke squandered a set and a 4-1 lead before losing to American-Indian Rajeev Ram in the Australian Open qualifying round on Saturday.

He took the first set 7-6 (7-1) and went up a break at 4-1 before Ram managed a comeback. The American leveled at five all and managed a crucial break to surge ahead at 6-5 before serving to win 7-5 and force the decisive set. He never looked back from then, prevailing 6-2 in the third set

It was a disappointing exit for the Thai who  reached the third round in Melbourne last year, surprising former world No 1 Juan Carlos Ferrero of Spain for his best result in a Grand Slam.
