Asean and South Korea are aiming to wrap up negotiations for a free-trade agreement (FTA) on services and investment the by the end of the year to foster business liberalisation and give companies a competitive edge. The 21st round of Asean-Korea Trade Negotiating Committee negotiations will be held in the Philippines at Bakyo from tomorrow to Friday.

Noppadon Sarawasi, deputy director-general of the Trade Negotiations Department, said an agreement should be concluded and followed after the FTA was implemented.

The meeting will cover a number of issues, including exchange rates and financial stability.
