CCom antenna integrated with ShinSat

Canada's CCom Satellite Systems has completed integration of its iNetVu mobile antenna systems with the iPSTAR broadband satellite owned by Shin Satellite (ShinSat).

The iPSTAR satellite, with a capacity of more than 45 gigabits per second, has extensive coverage across the AsiaPacific and offers highspeed, twoway broadband communications to more than 100,000 subscribers in eight countries with 11 gateways.

Asia's largest satellite broadband system now serves Australia, Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand, Burma, New Zealand and Vietnam. The Malaysian, Philippine and Indonesian gateways are under construction.

INetVu's mobile integration with the iPSTAR modem makes it possible to deliver mobile solutions to existing and potential iPSTAR customers.

"We are pleased to have been able to cooperate with iPSTAR and implement a seamless integration of the iNetVu controller with the iPSTAR modem. This integration will allow us to deliver jointly with iPSTAR a costeffective and reliable mobile solution to a very large area in the AsiaPacific region covered by the iPSTAR network," Leslie Klein, president and CEO of the Ottawabased antenna company, said this week.
