Trend Micro products receive awards

InterScan Messaging Security Suite (IMSS) and InterScan Gateway Security Appliance (IGSA) received the Checkmark Anti-Spam Premium Level Certification, which is only awarded to products that achieve at least 97 percent spam catch rate in the West Coast Labs independent anti-spam test. 

IGSA and InterScan Web Security Suite (IWSS) received the Checkmark Premium Certification for URL filtering.  Both products correctly identified 100 percent of the URLs contained with the West Coast Labs Test Suite in the content-filtering independent test.   

Spam continues to rise dramatically. It has more than doubled in the third quarter of 2007 and spam now accounts for more than 90 percent of all email traffic on the Internet.  With methods used by spammers transforming, it's more difficult to separate out spam emails based upon simple network-based criteria.  Trend Micro offers intelligent filtering solutions with heuristic rules as well as reputation services to keep the bulk of spam entirely off the network and protect against Web-based threats.
