UTCC survey shows the consumer confidence rise in December.
Consumer confidence index in December last year has improved, thanks to the overall economic situation, which has been positive for two months in a row. However, the consumers are still concerned with the price rise and stronger baht.
Saovanee Thairungroj, of Thai Chamber of Commerce University, said that the survey showed that the survey conducted after the election in December 23 showed that the overall consumer confidence in December was 70.4 points, compared to November of 69.3 points. The employment index in December was 71.0 points, a rise from November of 70.3 points. The index indicating the public's anticipation over the future income in December was 90.4 points, higher than November's of 89.1 points. The three indices showed that the consumer confidence has improved.
