Liverpool boss Benitez still committed to club

London (dpa) - Rafa Benitez insisted Wednesday that he is still determined to bring success to English Premier League club Liverpool, despite speculation that the club's owners have lost faith in him.

Benitez has had a series of spats with the club's American investors, Tom Hicks and George Gillett, largely over transfer spending.

Speculation has been intensified by the fact that chief executive Rick Parry is to meet with the owners this week, although he insisted he would be talking about plans for a new stadium and nothing else.

But Benitez is adamant he is not looking for an easy get-out.

"I don't know how many times I have to say I only see my future at Liverpool Football Club before certain people believe me, but I will say it again because it is really important that everyone understands this," he said.

"I love the club, I love the fans, I love the city and I am very, very happy here.

"I do not see my future at Real Madrid or Inter Milan or anywhere else. I see my future at Liverpool and this is where I want to stay.

"I want to win trophies for my club, for our fans and for the people and I still believe we can do this," he said.

Benitez came to Anfield in 2004. He led Liverpool to the European Champions League triumph in the memorable 2005 final with AC Milan, won the FA Cup in 2006 and made the Champions League final again in 2007, losing to Milan this time around.
