Chart Thai sticks with the PPP despite dissolution threat

The Election Commission's decision on whether or not to disband the People Power Party will not affect the Chart Thai Party's stance in joining the PPP-led coalition government, Chart Thai Party deputy leader Somsak Prissanananthakul said on Wednesday.

"It is not easy to dissolve a political party. People like to speculate. Do not jump to such a conclusion quickly. Do not speculate, wait till it happens,'' he said.

He dismissed criticism that the two Chart Thai Party candidates were disqualified because the Chart Thai decided to join the PPP to form the next government.

Somsak said he believed there had not been political interference in the work of the EC and he had strong faith in the integrity of the EC members.
