The Royal Household Bureau yesterday announced the start of ceremonies, as instructed by His Majesty, to conclude the initial seven days of mourning for HRH Princess Galyani.
HM the King will light candles and incense at the altar while 30 Buddhist monks will pray during the lighting of the candles. His Majesty will then make offerings to the monks.
Four monks will preach and pray to end the ceremony and Their Majesties the King and Queen will depart from the throne hall.
Tomorrow morning, there will be another merit-making ceremony. Their Majesties the King and Queen are due to travel to the Dusit Throne Hall at 10.30am for a further merit-making ceremony.
His Majesty will present food offerings to 30 praying monks, after which the monks will eat. Four monks will recite the Dhammakhatha and HM the King will present offerings and robes to the monks. HM the King will also present robes to 84 monks.
