Cabinet delays gas pipeline decision by another 2 weeks

The Cabinet yesterday approved the extension of the period to consider the PTT's gas-pipeline leasing fee for another two weeks following a proposal from Finance Minister Chalongbhob Sussangkarn, who asked for more information to calculate PTT's income from the gas business.

The postponement came after Chalongphob rejected a proposal made by the Treasury Department to collect a lease fee of 5 per cent of PTT's gas-pipeline business, which was estimated at Bt3.6 billion.
