One more Buri Ram Mp candidate may be disqualified

Buri Ram Provincial Election will tomorrow request the Election Commission decision to disqualify Buriram's constituency two People Power Party MP candidate Songsak Thongsri over allegations of mudslinging against other MP candidates, sources said.

Buri Ram Provincial Election chairman Kasem Wattanatham said there were grounds of wrongdoings and the election officials have gathered enough evidence to be presented to the EC. "It is up to the five EC members to decide whether the candidate will get red or yellow card,'' he said.

Buri Ram residents have been protesting against the EC's decision after it disqualified constituency 1's three winning People Power Party candidates.

Kasem said he was not discouraged by the protest. "I do not pay attention to the protest because it is not the right. I do my duty. Good and honest people must stand up in society without fear,'' he said.
