The number one is back as Ferrari unveil 2008 car

Fiorano, Italy (dpa) - Ferrari unveiled its Formula One car for the 2008 season in a modest ceremony on Sunday with the prestigious number one back on its nose.

The car simply named F2008 has undergone aerodynamics changes, the standard new electronics system has been built in, there are new safety features and due to rule changes the new model is also heavier than the 2007 car.

The number one is back on the nose as Kimi Raikkonen won the first drivers title for Ferrari last season since Michael Schumacher won a fifth straight title in 2004.

Team-mate Felipe Massa will drive the number two car for Ferrari, who also won the 2007 constructors crown.

"It must be our aim to win both titles again," said Raikkonen, who was due to test the car on Monday in Fiorano - with the retired Schumacher to be present as well.

Raikkonen said that he and Massa will have to change their driving style due to the changes, which also include the end of traction control, but was upbeat because "that happens with every new car."

Ferrari were the first F1 team to present the 2008 car. McLaren- Mercedes were due to follow on Monday at the Mercedes museum in Stuttgart, Germany, and most other teams also planned a January presentation.

The 2008 season starts on March 16 with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.
