Czech striker Jan Koller returns to Germany, at Nuremberg

Hamburg (dpa) - Czech striker Jan Koller on Sunday returned to German Bundesliga football at struggling cup winners Nuremberg in a move from French league club Monaco.

Nuremberg announced the move after Koller passed the mandatory medical check. He trained with the team for the first time later in the day.

No details were given on the transfer fee. Monaco reportedly wanted 2 million euros (3 million dollars) for the 34-year-old Koller.

Koller played at Borussia Dortmund 2001-2006 before moving on to Monaco, winning the 2002 Bundesliga title. Nuremberg won the German cup in 2007 but are struggling in the league, ranked 16th in the drop zone in the winter break.
