The talk will focus on history and culture of the Lower Burma, traditionally home to the Mon people and will also discuss the provocative new book by Michael Aung-Thwin, "The Mists of Ramanna: The Legend That Was Lower Burma", which argues that Lower Burma was not in the hands of the Mon but rather the Pyu, during the first millennium.
Stadtner, a former associate professor of Art History at the University of Texas, received his PhD in Indian art at the University of California, Berkeley.
