The direction is aimed at easing traffic congestion.

The volume of traffic on many roads and sois has increased, while thoroughfares are limited, resulting in heavy congestion, the Royal Gazette said. The regulations, to be effective immediately, covered 14 sois and roads. They are;

Soi Chathuchoke on Sukhaphibal V Road; Soi Ram-Indra 40; Soi Lat Phrao 41; the road along the northern side of Klong Phasicharoen; the southern side of Klong Phasicharoen; Soi Rama II; Soi Phetkasem 21; Soi Phetkasem 40; Soi Phetkasem 42; Soi Phetkasem 69; Ratchadaphisek sois 32 and 36; Soi Vibhavadi-Rangsit 9; the southern Rajdamnoen Klang Road and the southern side of Pran Nok Road.
