Soldier killed
A bomb killed one soldier and injured another while they were on patrol in Pattani's Yaring district yesterday.

The three-kilogram bomb was placed in a four-metre high tree and detonated by remote control at about 3.30pm when a group of four soldiers in a military vehicle were on patrol in the area.
The explosion killed Sgt-Major Kiartphrom Chanthrasophon who died after after being admitted to hospital and injured Private Thongmai Nakhonchai. The other two escaped unhurt, police said.
