TPIPL keeps fighting on penalty

TPI Polene Plc is vowing to file an appeal against the Criminal Court's ruling that it violated the securities law and is thus subjected to a fine of Bt6.9 billion.

Orapin Leophairatana, senior executive vice president of the cement company, said in the filing to the Stock Exchange of Thailand that TPIPL has not yet included the fine in the 2007 financial statements as the case is not over yet.

The fine was booked as possible obligations.

Meanwhile, TPIPL also reported that its asset value rose Bt8.3 billion following a re-appraisal. The extra gain was booked in the 2007 financial statements.
