"Her kidney function is also declining. Supportive treatment is continuing," it said, adding that her level of consciousness remained low.

The 84 year-old Princess has been receiving treatment at the Siriraj Hospital for months. HRH Princess Chulabhorn Valayalaksana, one of her nieces, visited her yesterday afternoon.

At the hospital, a large number of people showed up to wish her good health and queued to sign get-well messages. Among them were high-profile figures such as Election Commission chairman Apichart Sukhagganond and Miss Thailand World 2007 Kanokkorn Jaichuen.

Dararat Mahadamrongkul, chief executive of Trocadero Group, presented Bt4.8 million from the sales of a special-edition wristwatch to celebrate the 84th birthday of the Princess to her secretary. Khunying Saengduen na Nakorn also presented Bt11 million to the Princess' secretary to propagate the Tipitaka that the Princess has supported.

Meanwhile, royal attendants of the Princess yesterday made merit in dedication to her.
