New Year spending up 6.4%
Thais will spend Bt73.9 billion during the New Year period, 6.4 per cent up from last year, according to a survey of Thai Chamber of Commerce University.
That the percentage increase is below 10 per cent indicates that Thais are still concerned with their spending, the university said.
Only 34.6 per cent of respondents expected higher political stability after the election.
Most of them wish Thailand's economy prosper in the next year and said economic problems must be the priority of the new government.
