"From December 25 to January 5, 233 more scheduled flights and chartered flights will be laid on," Serirat said.
Of the extra flights, 182 are international, an increase of 32 or 21.33 per cent from last year, while 53 are domestic, down 183 or 78.20 per cent due to the relocation of most domestic flights to Don Mueang Airport.
December 29 will be the busiest day, when 38 extra flights are scheduled to arrive and depart the airport. On January 2, scheduled flights will rise by 25.
"Due to the busy schedule, Airports of Thailand will need to stand ready to provide convenience and safety," Serirat said.
A total of 850 AOT officers will be on duty during the period, up from 700.
Temporary workers will be increased from 300 a day to 500.
An information centre to assist passengers will be set up in the passenger terminal's seventh-floor lobby. It will be open 24 hours a day and can be reached at (02) 132 9946/7.
About 200 police will be stationed at the airport during the period to look after passenger safety and traffic management.
