Amor leaves hospital, but with intestinal injuries

Madrid (dpa) - Spanish news agency Efe announced on Monday that former Barcelona midfielder Guillermo Amor is now at home after being discharged from hospital.

Amor, 40, left the Verge de la Cinta de Tortosa hospital in Tarragona province on Sunday evening, and watched Barca's 1-0 defeat against leaders Real Madrid in his home.

Amor had been in the intensive care unit of the hospital since December 17, when he suffered a serious car accident whilst driving back from the Valencia-Barca match.

He underwent a successful emergency operation on his stomach.

He still has unspecified intestinal injuries, but is expected to make a full recovery within three months.

Amor was an important part of Johan Cruyff's Barca "Dream Team" of the 1990s, before winding down his career with Fiorentina, Villarreal and Livingston.

He played for Spain at the 1996 European Championship finals and at the 1998 World Cup.
