A doctor was summoned for Suwit, who suffers from high blood pressure. He reportedly fell ill when the unofficial results were announced and Puea Pandin was not among the victors in Khon Kaen. The People Power Party prevailed.

He received an injection, and was told to rest.

During campaigning, he had been viewed as a potential prime minister. Beaten, Suwit's hopes have been dashed.
