Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva yesterday thanked voters for putting his party at the top in the election for proportionate-representation MPs.

"I would like to say thank you to all voters who voted for Party No 4," Abhisit said as ongoing tallies showed his party was leading in the party-list vote.
Abhisit said if the People Power Party did not win more than half of the available MP seats, the Democrats and other parties could talk about the possibility of forming a coalition government.
Democrat secretary-general Suthep Thaugsuban echoed the opinion. "If we can form the government, we will. But if not, we are ready to serve as the opposition,"
he said.
