The boat smuggling the migrant workers, including four boys and seven women, reportedly left Burma's Koh Song province in the middle of Thursday night.

It was apparently overloaded with passengers and sank an hour into the trip.

Their destination was not clear, but Burmese authorities are look-ing for Sofor, 38, who lodged the workers in the area before departure.

Another Burmese, Kalamaomao, 40, was said to be captain.

The bodies are being kept at a cemetery in Ranong, and local authorities have contacted their Burmese counterparts.

The 20 still unaccounted for are believed to have been swept away by the ocean current.
