TITV acting news director moved

In a surprise move, Public Relations Department director-general Pramoj Rathavinij yesterday abruptly transferred Atcha Suwanpakpraek out of his post as acting news director for TITV.

The order was viewed as unusual coming just two days before the election.

However, the order signed by Pramoj stated the executive reshuffle was to prepare the station for the smooth transition into Thai Public Broadcasting Service (TPBS) because the TPBS Bill had already sailed through the National Legislative Assembly.

Atcha has worked at the station since it was known as iTV, which had been controlled by ousted premier Thaksin Shinawatra's family until last year.

Pramoj has replaced Atcha with Sonthiyarn Chuenrutainaitham, while Atcha has been assigned to serve as assistant director (news and programmes).
