Websites of The Nation (nationmultimedia.com), Krunthep Turakij (bangkokbiznews.com), Kom Chad Luek (komchadluek.net) and Nation Channel (nationchannel.com) will be reporting real-time vote counts and quick exit-poll results starting from the minute the poll booths close. Up-to-date analyses as well as vodcasts will be regular and constant, marking the media group's move into the digital era.
The group has also allied itself with TV Channels 7 and 9 on election reporting. NMG group editor Thepchai Yong will lead coverage and analyses on Channel 9 starting from 7am while Kanok Rattanawongsakul will join hands with Channel 7 veteran commentators starting from 7.30am.
Nation Channel, meanwhile, will function as "Election Station", with intensive coverage starting from 6am. The cable TV channel aims to be the first to announce exit-poll results after balloting is closed at 3pm.
Over 20,000 volunteers will be deployed as part of an unprecedented cooperation among TV Pool, True Visions, ASTV and Nation Channel, as well as Sripatum University, TOT and AIS 1-2-Call and Oishi green tea. This cooperation is planned to bring the quickest live updates of vote counts to TV Pool and NMG websites.
Nation editor Tulsathit Taptim will blog live on the election day and Nation managing editor Thanong Kanthong will add analytical insights through regular vodcasts throughout the day on nationmultimedia.com.
In addition to newspapers, websites and cable TV, NMG has reporters working for its radio programmes that can be heard worldwide through nationradioonline.com.
