The website, www.hrh84yrs.org, features the Princess's biography, her royal works, interests, royal decorations and accolades she has received. There are also rare photos of her, including one in which she posed alongside an aircraft. The Princess completed a flying course in 1957.
Well-wishers can send messages to the Princess, who has been receiving treatment for cancer at Siriraj Hospital for several months now, via the website.
The website was designed by a team from the Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under Royal Patronage. The university's design beat 35 other entries in a contest organised by a committee managing projects to honour the Princess on her 84th birthday.
Privy Councillor Pichitr Kullavanijaya, the chief adviser for projects honouring the Princess, announced the launch of the website yesterday.
Meanwhile, doctors have seen an improvement in the Princess's condition, according to the latest statement from the Royal Household Bureau.
"Her Royal Highness has less fever. Her fatigue and twitching have also lessened," the announcement said, adding that doctors were able to reduce the Princess's medication.
However, it said the Princess's level of consciousness had not improved. Doctors continue to monitor her progress closely.
His Majesty the King has been at his elder sister's side all week since Monday night. He left the hospital for Chitralada Palace yesterday after seeing her condition improve.
Many people waited in the hospital compound to pay respects to His Majesty, who waved and smiled at the crowd amid resounding chants of "Long Live the King".
