Ratthapark eyes a place in the top 10

Ratthapark Wilairot is hoping that the next Moto GP season will see him cl-ock some faster times, as he has his heart set on a top-10 finish.

The Thai rider, who finished his debut season in 17th place, is confident his performance will improve after gaining valuable experience in the past year on 17 different circuits.

"I have earned experience from the competitions and know the circuits better now," said Ratthapark, the first Thai to have successfully contested an entire season in Moto GP.

Ratthapark, better known as "Film", will enter his second season with a new Honda RS 250 RW, which is about three seconds per lap faster than the old bike.

"I have tested the new one already and I think it is easier to control this one. Three seconds will help me finish in a good position. Anyway, the bike is not the most important key for the race, it is concentration. I missed finishing in better places on several circuits as I had bad starts. But things are getting better after practice," said the rider, who will sport the No 14 tag.

However, Ratthapark feels some more pressure with his new bike. "I feel pressure as the new motorcycle means I have to improve my performance to finish in the top 10 on every circuit," he said.
