Votebuying flyers attributed to Thaksin

Nakhon Phanom - Residents found flyers left at public places and signed by former prime minister Thaksin Shinawatra promising to pay Bt1,000 per vote cast for the People Power Party.

The flyers were designed as a personal letter from Thaksin to the northeastern constituents thanking them for supports to install the PPP in power.

The writing indicated that Thaksin had sent funds for distribution to voters via PPP canvassers and that he promised to return to administer the country following the PPP's victory.
