VIPs and TV hosts visit sick Princess

People from all corners of the Kingdom continued to express their wishes for the quick recovery of His Majesty the King's elder sister HRH Princess Galyani Vadhana at Bangkok's Siriraj Hospital yesterday.

Among the visitors was a representative of the Ambassador of Switzerland, Dr Rodolphe S Imhoof, to present the Princess with a vase of flowers and a get-well card. The representative said the ambassador and the people of Switzerland were concerned about the Princess's illness and wished her a quick recovery.

Four female hosts of the popular Channel 3 programme "Phuying Tueng Phuying" (Woman to Woman) - Patcharasri "Kalamae" Benjamas, Pimonrat "Pui" Suppayang, Kulnadda "Neena" Patchimsawat and Meesuk "Kai" Jangmeesuk - led a group of 20 children from the Foundation For Slum Child Care under the Princess's patronage to sign get-well messages at the hospital.

Sumana Abhinorasaethm, a representative of the Princess to host merit making for the Sri Buddha Kaya Stupa at Siriwatanawisut Temple in Nakhon Sawan, said Nakhon Sawan residents had also recited the "Lak Khi" prayer 100,000 times to wish for the Princess's good health.

Sumana also presented the Princess with the stupa model and amulets.

Other important visitors included the wife of former prime minister Field Marshal Thanom Kittikachorn, Than Phuying Jongkol Kittikachorn, Tourism and Sports Minister Suwit Yodmanee, Naval Transportation Department chief Rear Admiral Chatcharin Chusri and 50 naval officers.

Chitralada School principal Than Phuying Angkab Punyashthiti also led 20 students to sign get-well messages, along with 90 students from Suphan Buri Sport School.

On Tuesday, the Royal Household Bureau announced that the Princess was very tired. She has been receiving treatment for cancer at Siriraj Hospital for months.
