Hamilton caught speeding in France, driving licence pulled

Paris (dpa) - Formula One driver's championship runner-up Lewis Hamilton has had his driving licence suspended for one month in France after being caught speeding, French media reported Tuesday.

The 22-year-old Hamilton was caught driving his Mercedes CLK at 196 kilometres per hour on a motorway between the northern French cities of Calais and Reims.

In addition to having his licence pulled for a month, the British driver - who finished one point behind 2007 F1 driving champion Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari - was also fined 600 euros (865 dollars).
