Foods
All the trimmings
Although the Siam City Hotel can't provide you snow on Christmas, the hotel has an avalanche of festive cuisine and fine wines wrapped in a flurry of seasonal cheer. The hotel's five restaurants have been decked with decorations and new holiday menus. Christmas cake and holiday treats add to the merriment, which is highlighted by visits from carollers and Santa Claus.
Guests have the choice of an international buffet with traditional turkey, ham and all the trimmings at Patummat; innovative Italian cuisine at Primavera; and Asian set meals available at Kamon, and Lin-Fa. Or sample royal Thai cuisine and Khao Yai wines at Spice & Rice.
On Christmas Day, Patummat's buffet lunch showcases activities for children and the family. Santa Claus visits with gifts and carollers offer Christmas cheer.
Whether it's a Christmas Eve or Christmas Day dining celebration with family or friends, set meals are available in all outlets. Call (02) 247 0123 for reservations.
Festive decor
December is traditionally the most colourful and vibrant month of the year, so prepare yourselves for a series of fun festive activities.
The Peninsula Hotel is one particularly festive destination, offering a series of fun activities throughout the month. Although the Teddy Bear Afternoon Tea charity buffet is over, from today to December 25 you are invited to take part in the Trees of Hope campaign which has each Peninsula hotel selling ornaments displayed on its Christmas tree to raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation, an organisation which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.
A special selection of festive Trees of Hope Cocktails has been created as part of the campaign. Each cocktail comes with an ornament to hang on The Peninsula's Tree of Hope in the Lobby. Choose from concoctions like eau de vie framboise and vodka on champagne ice, traditional grog of red port and vodka infused with cardamom and cloves, and a spicy, hot gluhwein of red wine, blackcurrant, vodka, cinnamon, cloves and cardamom. Call (02) 861 2888 for reservations.
