Musicians protested against the Copyright Act

Songwriters and musicians on Tuesday rallied to the Commerce Ministry to protest against the Copyright Act before the National Legislative Assembly's approval, claiming the act doesn't create fair practice for copyright owners.



Some 20 representatives called for the government to revise the draft act as it lacked of copyright owner participation. It said that government should not intervene the copyright collection.

Krij Thomas, managing director of Grammy Gold, said that songwriters and musicians don't want the act's implementation as it would create difficulty for copyright owners.
