Politicians are not social welfare workers who have to join every community event such as funerals, ordination ceremonies and weddings, he said, adding this was only solving problems on an individual level and that developing policies was better in the long run for everyone.
"I want to be the people's representative the way people in the South have Chuan Leekpai, the Democrats' chief adviser, who solved their problems," he added.
Being a new-face MP candidate, Thinakorn realises he has to face questions of what he has done for people, as they do not yet know him.
He said he could only tell people that he used to be a civic political activist who worked for the public.
Thinakorn said one advantage of being a new face was that he had never previously been bruised by politics.
He aims to receive votes from the younger generation.
