The 136.6-kilometre relay race starts from a beach behind Haad Kaew Resort in Songkhla on the Gulf of Thailand to the Pak Bara Pier in Satun on the Andaman Sea. The relay route will lead participants through the scenic rural countryside of southern Thailand, dotted with orchards, rubber and palm plantations.

Rangsit Plaza, operator of Future Park Rangsit, spent Bt50 million to turn 3,000 square metres on the third floor into its F-Runway Freestyle Fashion Zone. Opened last week, the renovation is aimed at boosting younger customers 30 per cent next year.
Vice president for sales Jittinan Wanglee said a survey conducted early this year showed 80,000 customers a day were drawn to the third floor on weekdays and 140,000 a day on weekends. Most customers were looking for trendy products, have their own personal styles, and gave priority to reasonable pricing. As a result, the company spent Bt50 million to change the shopping floor to attract "new generation" customers "with changing lifestyles".
To celebrate the opening, more than 80 shops in the F-Runway zone are offering up to 50-per-cent discounts. A special campaign, Flyover to Glittering Stars, will also be launched, with a lucky draw for prizes worth a total of Bt2 million. To create a continuous buying spree and celebrate the opening of the new zone and New Year's, the campaign began this week and will run until January 13.
