The money will be dispensed during 2008-2009.

Deputy Agriculture Minister Rungruang Isarangkura na Ayudhaya said the programme was expected to lift standards to meet those imposed by major trade partners like the European Union and Japan.

It aims to reach out to farmers, manufacturers, exporters and consumers.

KPN strategy

KPN Music has scaled down the size of franchised outlets to facilitate the opening of provincial shops.

It expects the opening of 15-20 outlets next year in Bangkok and provinces. It currently has 17 in Bangkok and five in the provinces, said CEO Nop Narongdej.

The smallest size will be 100-200 square metres, against 300-1,000 at present. Tuition costs will vary according to location.

Reserves up

Thailand's foreign reserves moved up slightly to US$85 billion (Bt2.85 trillion) as of December 7, against $84.6 billion a week earlier. The Bank of Thailand also said that its net forward position on the date was valued at $18.1 billion, compared with $18.4 billion on November 30.
