Tamarine, seeded first in the mixed event along with Sonchat Ratiwatana crashed out in the semi-finals against Cecil Mamitt and Denise Dy 4-6 0-6. However, she salvaged her pride where she and Napaporn beat Angelique Widjaja and Wynne Prakusya 6-4 7-6 (7-5) in one hour and 28 minutes.
"I started quite slow in the mixed doubles which gave the Filipino team confidence in the second set," Tamarine said.
Napaporn deserved a thumbs-up for her impressive performance that saw her reach the mixed doubles final with Sanchai Ratiwatana. They dismissed Dianne Matias and Frederick Taino of the Philippines 6-2 6-2.
In the other women's doubles quarter-final, Suchanan Viratprasert and Nungnadda Wannasuk outclassed Czarina Arevalo and Michelle Pang of the Philippines 6-3 6-3.
After the match, Suchanan said she was furious to know that she had to play the doubles instead of the singles at the last minute.
In the men's doubles quarter-final, Minh Quan Do and Quoc Khanh Le of Vietnam stunned Weerapat Doakmaiklee and Kirati Siributwong 6-3 5-7 11-9.
