Consumer confidence up for the first time in 13 months

The consumer confidence index has turned upward for the first time in 13 months, thanks to recovery consumer sentiment following the national election, according to a survey released by the University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce (UTCC) Thursday.

The index rose from 75.5 points in October to 76.2 points in November. All related confidence indexes also followed the upward trend, the university said, because of clearer political scene.

However, consumer still worried about higher costs of living, driving by spiralling oil price.
