
According to the survey which has run for 13 years, Anant has been ranked the highest for five years: 1994, when his holdings reached Bt21.68 billion; 2002, at Bt9.86 billion; 2003, Bt16.4 billion; and 2006, at Bt13.14 billion.
Trailing him is Thongma Vijitpongpun, chief executive of Preuksa Real Estate Plc, with total holdings of Bt11.15 billion. Coming in the third place is Premchai Karnasuta, president of contractor Italian-Thai Development Plc who was ranked the fourth in the 2006 ranking.
The ranking of Prasert Prasarttong-Osoth, Bangkok Airways' President & CEO, moved up two places from last year to the fourth, with assets worth Bt6.3 billion.
The real surprise is Vorajet Intamara, whose ranking moved up sharply from the 661st last year to the fifth place, mainly due to his acquisition into Sea Horse Plc. His stake of 78.38 per cent in the seafood company as of September 30 was valued at Bt6.1 billion.
